About me
Hi! I’m Ana and I live in an old cottage by Norwegian fjord.
I love a good cup of tea, mountain hike with dogs and inventing new bakes. And illustration is my passion! I enjoyed painting as long as I can remember.
I prefer hand-drawn art for its organic look and personal touch.
I enjoy drawing cosy scenes and cute characters, especially different animals gathering together for a cup of tea with a pie or for a hide-and-seek game. Spending time with these critters makes me smile and unites me with my inner child.
But there is another reason for my love for animals – I believe in inclusion: bunnies, turtles and crocodiles all play together despite their differences and accept each other as they are with their personalities and tempers. In children books I prefer topics of inclusion more than diversity: while diversity books focus on ‘different’ and ‘unusual’, inclusion is focusing on similarities, though, of course, both are important.
I am also taking environmental problems seriously. For example, I never had driver’s license, read newspapers only online and avoid animal products as much as I can. In the end of the day, if I draw a baby moose – how could I think of eating one?
I’ve published several hand-drawn games, they were awarded with high ratings, and one of them was listed in best 10 Norwegian games according to GDWC.
My debut author-illustrator picture book “Skal Bare” is coming August 2025. I’ve also illustrated four children’s books.
